Fourth Annual Gov. Phil Bryant's 5K Run for Health Set for June 18

Area runners are getting ready for the fourth annual Governor Phil Bryant's 5K Run for Health, set for next Thursday, June 18. Proceeds will benefit Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital. Event sponsors include Magnolia Health, AT&T, SuperTalk Mississippi, Coca-Cola and the Mississippi Hospital Association.

"This is our fourth run benefiting Blair E Batson Children's Hospital and each year the 5K gets even better," Gov. Bryant said. "This year we are encouraging everyone to wear the colors of their favorite Mississippi university. I hope to see a sea of different colors at the starting line before we hit the course starting at the Capitol. Registration is still open, and I hope everyone will come out for a great cause."

Early Bird Packet Pick-Up will be on Monday, June 15 through Wednesday, June 17 from 11:00 am until 3:00 p.m. at the Mississippi Coliseum's Blue Room.
On June 18, pre-race festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. on the south steps of the Mississippi Capitol where runners can register the day of the race or pick up packets if they're already registered until 4:45 p.m. The 5K begins at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by a half-mile Kid's Fun Run at 6:30 p.m.

Registration is $20 for individuals who sign up before or on June 13 and $35 from June 14 until race day. Also teams of 10 or more people can sign up for $10 per person. Online registration is open until midnight on June 14 at www.governorbryant.com/5k/.
